Did you and your beloved pet make it to the Pet Day Slide Show? Check it out to see if you did, and to see the pets of all who attended. "Well, I went on down to the Audubon Zoo, and they all asked for you!" We had everything from a bearded dragon to a pony to a calf, not to mention many dogs and a few brave cats.
Our next field trip is Friday, May 13 at Clark Creek Natural Area. Join us for a great day of hiking and playing under waterfalls! Parents, check email for details. This is a field trip you don't want to miss!
It's time for the last Scholastic Books order this school year! Orders and payments are due May 6. The easiest way to order is online. Visit Scholastic's parent page. If you created a login for this school year, log in. If you have not yet created a login, click on Register and use Class Activation Code GKWVH. It's fast and easy, and for each online order, our learning center gets a free book! You can still order from the paper flyer and send your order and payment to the learning center. Online and paper orders are due May 6. For each order we place, Scholastic will donate $1 to the PJs for Japan program to purchase pajamas for the children affected by the tsunami in Japan. Every little bit helps!

Congratulations to our Thibodaux students who spent their break time today picking up trash at the park. The trash weighed 13.2 pounds! The students will be participating in activities throughout the week to celebrate Earth Day. We can make a difference!

Attention Thibodaux and Houma Students:
It's time for our annual chess tournament! This year's tournament will include both our Thibodaux and Houma location students, and will be organized and run by chess master Mr. Mike Papa. All students are invited to enter the tournament. Trophies will be awarded to first, second, third, and fourth place winners. The tournament will be Thursday, April 14 at 1:00 PM at Pepper's Pizza in Houma. Pepper's will offer a $10 buffet for us, which includes pizza, pasta, drinks, and gratuity. March Madness is here! Join our group and pick your winning teams at ESPN's Tournament Challenge. The contest is open to all students and teachers. Parents, you can team up with your child. The person with the highest score at the end of the tournament wins a basketball! You must pick your winners beforetipoff of the first game in the tournament, which is scheduled for Tuesday, March 15 at 5:30 PM Central. Come join the fun!
